They’re Doing What?
They have partnered with Parley, a company that is dedicated to pulling plastics out of the ocean and turning it into a commercial product. An estimated 8 million metric tons of plastic waste ends up in our oceans ever year. Together they have developed a clothing and shoe line using recycled plastics for the core materials. By teaming up, they are reducing the amount of virgin plastics that get used every year in fashion.
The COOL Stuff:
One interesting product that has recently been unveiled to the public is the 2019 NHL All Star game jerseys. These jerseys are made with materials designed from plastics pulled from the ocean shores (or intercepted before they could reach the ocean). They were in action at the NHL All Star Weekend January 26th & 27th, 2019 in San Jose.
So whether you are rooting for your favorite hockey team or heading onto the roof to support a pipe, always remember to “C-Port” companies making decisions to better our planet.
